There’s no way around the processes of aging, it seems. However, it would appear there’s a loophole to the laws of science — if you happen to be one of these Hollywood A-listers, somehow, time keeps moving on but your looks stay frozen in time. Read on to discover which ageless celebrities might as well be vampires, as they’ve somehow managed to miraculously defy the process of aging.
1. Reese Witherspoon
There’s no way Reese Witherspoon’s labor-and-delivery nurse mother and doctor father could have expected the impact their daughter would make on the world after they signed her up for her first commercial at seven years old. Listed as one of the world’s 100 most powerful women by Forbes in 2019, this Oscar-winner is far more than just an influential Hollywood entertainer.
She is also a business owner, philanthropist, and mother, who seems to be putting a lot of emphasis on this last title as of late. And a quick browse of her February 2020 Instagram posts show just that: Witherspoon posted a sweet video of her 16-year-old son teaching her how to dap, and a photo of her wearing her 20-year-old daughter’s clothes. Speaking of her daughter, though Reese Witherspoon’s age is 43, the two look practically identical.
2. Kanye West
Chicago native Kanye West is considered by many critics as well as fans to be one of modern history’s most influential musicians. The hip-hop artist has 21 Grammy Awards to his name and is not only praised for his musical innovation, but also for being an urban style trendsetter.
West’s boldness goes beyond just his albums and clothing line, and has also seeped into his political persona. In addition to increased involvement in politics, in January of 2019, Kanye sought to rectify this by introducing a weekly Christian assemblage called the Sunday Service. Though today Kanye West’s age is 42, he looks like the decades have barely changed his appearance.
3. Gwyneth Paltrow
If there’s one thing 47-year-old Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow is, then it’s definitely bold. In 2008, the Shakespeare in Love star launched a lifestyle and wellness company called Goop, which boasts an e-commerce website, pop-up shops, a print magazine, wellness summit, podcast, as well as its own Netflix docuseries.
Perhaps one of the most talked-about additions to Goop was its candle called “This smells like my [insert name for a woman’s nether region],” which retails for $75. The candle’s existence aptly went viral, and to the surprise of many, sold out in a flash. According to Paltrow, Sir Elton John himself snapped up 100 of them.
4. Will Smith
Many fans consider Will Smith to be a modern-day Renaissance man. As a four-time Grammy Award winner, two-time Oscar nominee, and having grossed $3.5 billion in box office sales over his lifetime, Smith has proven he has the talent to succeed in a number of areas within the entertainment industry.
Today, Will Smith’s age is 51, and he shows zero signs of slowing down. In 2018, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star took to YouTube to show off his producing skills in the Karate Kid-based series, “Cobra Kai.” More recently, he played the role of the Genie in the 2019 live-action remake of Aladdin, and a government assassin in the Ang Lee film Gemini Man.
5. Gwen Stefani
There’s no doubt (get it?) that Gwen Stefani is a music and fashion icon in today’s world. Rising to stardom in the ’90s as the lead singer of her wildly-successful rock band, she eventually broke away from band life in 2004 to pursue a solo music career. Stefani has since then given us such catchy tunes as “Hollaback Girl” and “Rich Girl.” From 2014 – 2019, she was part of the panel of judges on The Voice.
It was there that she met her beau, Blake Shelton. As of February 2020, rumors have circulated for a few months about a secret marriage between the two. But while that’s not for certain, one thing is: the multi-talented Gwen Stefani has a lot on her plate right now. She is finishing up her Just a Girl residency in Las Vegas while mothering three children and releasing new music with Shelton, most recently their 2019 song, “Nobody But You.” From how she looks, you’d never guess Gwen Stefani’s age is actually 50.
6. Owen Wilson
If you’re wondering what it looks like to look pretty much the same at 32 years old and 51 years old, then have no fear, Owen Wilson is here. The Zoolander actor, whose most recent on-screen roles include a supporting part in the 2017 drama comedy Wonder and a co-starring role in the comedy Father Figures, is expected to join the Marvel Universe.
According to Vanity Fair, Wilson will appear in Marvel’s Loki series on Disney Plus. The storyline is still on the hush-hush, but is said to center around an alternate version of the villain as he exploits a stolen Tesseract cube. In the summer of 2020, Wilson will also co-star alongside Jennifer Lopez in the rom-com, Marry Me.
7. Trya Banks
From top model to reality television icon, author, and now a budding entrepreneur, Tyra Banks has certainly had an eclectic career. Her most recent venture is a supermodel theme park called ModelLand, which is set to officially open to the public on May 1, 2020 in Santa Monica, California.
For $56 general admission tickets, visitors gain access to pre-recorded footage from Banks with advice on how to pose, a photoshoot, and a personalized all-digital lookbook. But while it may sound geared towards those who are keen on dressing in designer gowns and walking down runways, Banks claims that ModelLand is for everyone and is a place meant to celebrate and encourage uniqueness.
8. Paul Rudd
He was one of the most loved characters on the fan-favorite sitcom Friends, which ran for a total of ten seasons. Paul Rudd, who played Mike Hannigan on the show, became a household name after playing Pheobe’s boyfriend-turned-husband. But while his name became synonymous with the series, his career only blossomed following its end.
Rudd’s on-screen credits include roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, Parks and Recreation, and Captain America: Civil War. More recently, he appeared in Avengers: Endgame and began starring in the 2019 Netflix original series, Living With Yourself. And might we add — the 50-year-old actor looks the same as he did while he played Pheobe’s husband.
9. Jennifer Lopez
Call her what you want — J. Lo, Jenny from the block, Jennifer Lopez, whatever — but whatever you call her, pay respect to the fact that this singer, actress, and electrifying entertainer is one of Hollywood’s biggest names. Since her breakthrough role portraying the late singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in the 1997 autobiographical film, Lopez has remained a fixture of the public eye.
As of late, the entertainment icon has been showing off a more risqué side of herself. In her newest 2019 feature film, Hustlers, she plays the role of a New York strip club’s senior-most dancer. She once again flaunted her sexy moves during the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, during which she danced alongside Shakira. At 50, Jennifer Lopez’s age is just a number.
10. Keanu Reeves
The fact that fans are waiting for the fourth installment of The Matrix to come out some 17 years after the last has got people feeling like they’re living in the Matrix itself. Besides, what ever happened to the plan for a science fiction trilogy?
That aside, many can’t wait to see the 55-year-old Keanu Reeves — aka Neo — once again in The Matrix 4, which is set to hit theaters in May of 2021. Filming for the fourth installment apparently started around February of 2020, and fans flooded the Internet with recorded footage of Reeves shooting in San Francisco. With such long locks, we can’t help but think Neo will look similar to Reeves in the John Wick films.
11. John Legend
One of a few entertainers to have reached EGOT status by winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award, John Legend is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. Many wonder what the average day-to-day is like for a legend like this. Luckily, the part-time musician/part-time social activist opened up to The Guardian in 2019 about just that.
According to 41-year-old Legend, he wakes up at 6:30 am, works out, takes his children to preschool, heads to the studio, comes home for dinner, puts the kids to bed, and watches reality television with his wife, Chrissy. Legend can be seen coaching on The Voice or subbing for Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show. The singer announced he is working on his seventh studio album, which he calls “sexy and soulful.”
12. Eva Mendes
There’s not many people who go from wishing to be a nun to becoming a famous actress. But having been raised in a devout Roman Catholic family, this was Eva Mendes’ reality. Now, she’s the wife of Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling and the mother of two daughters.
The Girl in Progress star took to Instagram in January 2020 to express why she hasn’t been on the big-screen since appearing in Lost River in 2014. According to 45-year-old Mendes, motherhood has shifted her perspective on acting and she is now pickier when it comes to choosing roles. The actress said that because she is a walking example for her daughters, her next role has to be something appropriate but still fun for her.
13. Brad Pitt
At the 2020 Academy Awards ceremony, Hollywood icon Brad Pitt swooped up his first-ever Oscar for acting. He was awarded the Best Supporting Actor trophy for his performance in the Quentin Tarantino film, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. His previous Oscar win was as a producer for 12 Years a Slave, which took home the Best Picture award in 2014.
During Pitt’s 2020 acceptance speech, the actor paid tribute to the stunt community in Hollywood, Tarantino, and his six children. From his appearance in the film that won him the award, looking youthful as ever at 56, Brad Pitt’s age isn’t at all visible.
14. Rihanna
Barbadian musician and fashionista Rihanna hasn’t released an album since January 28, 2016: something that has left her loving fanbase, the Navy, wondering what she has been up to. But the singer-turned-business-mogul-and-philanthropist has been doing quite a lot since the release of Anti.
32-year-old Rihanna is now the owner of a number of lucrative businesses, such as fashion house Fenty, cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, and lingerie line Savage x Fenty. According to Forbes, these business ventures helped her secure her place as the world’s richest female musician in 2019. It seems she, too, lives by her dancehall anthem, “work, work, work, work, work.”
15. Matt Damon
The Martian actor Matt Damon has some exciting projects on the horizon, one of which is a collaboration with fellow Hollywood legend and close friend, Ben Affleck. The pair is teaming up to write The Last Duel, a historical drama film set to be released on Christmas Day in 2020.
The film, starring 49-year-old Damon alongside Adam Driver and Jodie Comer, is based on Eric Jager’s book, The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France. It is set in 14th century France and chronicles the lives of knights Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris. Expectations are high for this film, as it is the first time Damon and Affleck have co-written something since Good Will Hunting, for which they won an Academy Award.
16. Kate Winslet
Titanic star Kate Winslet is currently filming for Ammonite, a historical drama directed and written by Francis Lee that is expected to be released in late 2020. The film is set in 1800s England and chronicles the life of Mary Anning (played by Winslet), who is an acclaimed fossil hunter with a poor reputation.
When a wealthy man arrives for a visit, he assigns Mary the responsibility of looking over his wife Charlotte (played by Saoirse Ronan). Mary accepts the responsibility because she needs the money, and the two women develop an intense relationship. This 44-year-old Oscar winner is still very much a force to be reckoned with.
17. Beyoncé
For someone with such a successful solo career, it’s hard to imagine Beyoncé as part of a bigger group, but let us not forget that Queen B got her start as the lead singer of girl band Destiny’s Child. When the group took a hiatus between 2001 and 2005, Beyoncé pounced on the chance to make a name for herself as a solo artist.
It seems the 38-year-old “Crazy in Love” singer passed on her drive — and talent — to her kids. At the 2020 NAACP Image Awards, Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy took home the Outstanding Group award for her song, “Brown Skin Girl” featured in The Lion King: The Gift.
18. Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon’s age is far from keeping him off his feet. The Footloose actor Kevin Bacon turned 61 on July 8, 2019, and told IndieWire in an interview a month later that while people at his age normally choose to work less and start getting nostalgic about their lives and careers, he is “completely still pedal to the metal, looking for the next time, driving straight down the road.”
Part of the Golden Globe-winning actor’s latest work is in the television series, City on a Hill, which first premiered online on June 7, 2019 and on Showtime nine days later. Set in 1990s Boston, the crime series shows a city plagued by violence.
19. Jennifer Aniston
The one where Jennifer Aniston broke a Guinness World Record: on October 15, 2019, the Friends star joined Instagram and accumulated a record-setting one million followers in just five hours and sixteen minutes. Not only did she practically break the platform, but her Friends co-stars also gained over one million followers each within a week of her making an account: an effect dubbed “The Aniston Effect.”
The 51-year-old fan favorite once again caught the attention of the public at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards, where she won a trophy for best actress in a television series. But that wasn’t what got Aniston fans excited. Her affectionate moments with ex-husband Brad Pitt basically broke the Internet again.
20. Jamie Foxx
Grammy Award-winning musician and acclaimed actor Jamie Foxx became widely respected in 2004 for his Oscar-winning role as Ray Charles in the biographical movie, Ray. Since then, he has appeared in a number of other films and most recently received a 2020 American Black Film Festival award for Excellence in the Arts.
Days after the festival, 52-year-old Foxx was awarded Best Supporting Actor at the NAACP Image Awards for his performance in Just Mercy, which he claims is the most important film he has done to date. At Jamie Foxx’s age, whereas many celebrities would be content to sit on their laurels, he’s powering forward.
21. Helen Mirren
Oscar-winning British veteran actress Helen Mirren has a résumé that’ll wow just about anyone. But while her fans can so easily see her talent, The Queen actress says she often falls victim to thinking she’s “not exciting enough.” To squash this thought, the 74-year-old told The Mirror in February of 2020 that she gives herself a pep talk in the bathroom and gardens.
Despite not feeling confident in her talent at times, there is one thing the actress says she does know for sure: that “it’s much better to age disgracefully” than to not enjoy aging at all. Take one good look at Mirren and we’re sure you’ll be thinking the same — she sure knows how to defy this process.
22. Jim Parsons
He has taken home four Emmy Awards for his role as the know-it-all geek Sheldon Cooper in the CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory. With such success, Jim Parsons certainly knows his worth. The actor even allegedly pulled a Friends-like move and negotiated a contract for $1 million per episode! It seems money just flows to actors in high demand.
And as television’s “most beloved scientist,” Parsons is in high demand. He made a guest appearance in the latest episode of The Simpsons on February 24, 2020, titled “Frinkcoin.” In the episode, Parsons voices himself to explain blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Would you believe it if you learned Jim Parsons’ age is 46?
23. Lucy Liu
Not only is Lucy Liu one of the most recognizable Asian-American figures in entertainment, but she also doesn’t seem to age, looking exactly the same at 51 as she did decades ago. The Charlie’s Angel got her first big break in television on the hit comedy series Ally McBeal, and if she went back in time to star again, we wouldn’t detect a difference.
More recently, the actress wrapped up her seven-season run on the CBS crime drama, Elementary in the summer of 2019, saying farewell to her beloved character, Dr. Joan Watson. The multi-talented Liu also started showing off her directing and producing skills, not only starring in the new TV series Why Women Kill, but also directing it.
24. Mario Lopez
Longtime Extra television host, Mario Lopez made the switch to rival Access Hollywood in July of 2019. Co-anchoring alongside Scott Evans and Kit Hoover, the talented television personality took the slot previously filled by Natalie Morales. But that’s not all in recent Lopez-related news.
Caring for three children and working as a television host and author takes up a lot of time as one can imagine, but Lopez still somehow finds the time to hit the gym with his right hand man, Mark Wahlberg. The two are regular training buddies and frequently share snaps of their sessions on Instagram. It’s as though Mario Lopez’s age of 46 is but an illusion.
25. Pharrell Williams
Singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams first stepped into the Hollywood spotlight as a hip-hop and R&B artist. But now he is known for much more than just his music. In 2014, the “Happy” hit-maker joined the cast of NBC’s singing talent competition, The Voice.
His competitive yet compassionate nature was a welcome addition to the show for four seasons. But when the 46-year-old failed to return for the 11th season, fans speculated that he must have been busy with something else, and they were right. The singer welcomed triplets in January of 2017 and went on an entrepreneurial streak, further developing his clothing lines Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.
